Kataifi, also sold as kunafa dough, is a pastry made of very fine golden strands, packed here as a 1 kg portion. It is the base for kunafa and for crunchy kadayif desserts that go well with afternoon tea.<\/p>\n

For a simple kunafa, loosen the strands by hand, toss them with melted butter and press half into a baking tray. Spread a layer of soft cheese or chopped nuts on top, cover with the rest of the strands and bake until deep golden, then pour cool syrup over the hot tray. Store the dough as directed on the pack and keep unused strands covered so they do not dry out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
